When choosing an office, the workspace itself matters. But once you start working there every day, you quickly realise that what’s around your office matters too.
Where can you grab your morning coffee? Where do you go when you only have 20 minutes between meetings? Is there a gym nearby? And what about somewhere to switch off after eight hours in front of a screen?
At aSpace Aviației, located in AFI Lakeview, all of this is part of the everyday experience. When you work from aSpace Aviației, you don’t have to go far for the things you need throughout the day.
There are coffee and lunch options inside AFI Lakeview and just a few steps away, Promenada Mall is nearby, and supermarkets, pharmacies and private healthcare services are all within easy reach. You also have gyms and some of northern Bucharest’s best-known green spaces nearby.
In other words, you can come to the office in the morning, grab coffee or lunch, run a few errands after work and finish the day with a workout or a walk in the park — without having to cross the city.
First Stop of the Day: Where Are We Getting Coffee?
Let’s start with the obvious: coffee.
One of the newest additions to AFI Lakeview is ENEVO Specialty Coffee, making it an especially convenient choice for your morning coffee or a quick break between meetings. We’ve already heard great things about it from members of our own community.
Nearby, you’ll also find French Revolution, well known in Bucharest for its éclairs and a particularly good option when your coffee could use something sweet on the side.
Head towards Promenada Mall and you’ll have even more choice. BOILER, Manufaktura and Starbucks are just a few of the options for anything from a quick takeaway coffee to a longer break away from your desk.
The advantage of working from aSpace Aviației? Depending on how much time you have, getting coffee can mean popping downstairs for a couple of minutes or taking a short walk out of the office.
You Have 15 Minutes Until Your Next Meeting. What’s for Lunch?
Not every workday leaves room for a leisurely lunch. Luckily, when your calendar is packed, there are plenty of options close to the office.
Spoonful and Stradale are convenient choices when you want a quick lunch with several dishes to choose from. Very close to AFI Lakeview, you’ll also find Fabrica de Ciorbe, with Treevi Pizza right next door — two easy options depending on whether the day calls for a traditional Romanian soup or pizza.
There’s also a small convenience shop on the ground floor of AFI Lakeview that is surprisingly useful during a busy workday. You can quickly pick up coffee, lunch, pastries, drinks and other everyday essentials without having to venture far from the office.
It probably won’t make your list of “must-see places in Bucharest”, but when your next call starts in ten minutes, it might be exactly what you need.
And When You Actually Have Time for Lunch?
Then there are the days when you can close the laptop and have lunch without checking the time every five minutes.
For a more relaxed meal, a client meeting or lunch with the team, you’ll find options such as Divan and Si-Lounge in the area.
And if you’re looking for something a little more special, there’s NOR Sky Casual Restaurant, one of the better-known restaurants in northern Bucharest. With its panoramic views over the city, it’s better suited to a longer lunch, dinner or a meeting where you want the setting to be part of the experience.
That’s one of the things we like about working in this area: one day you can grab lunch in 15 minutes close to aSpace, and the next you can take a client somewhere for a proper meal without travelling across Bucharest.
Promenada: More Than Just a Place to Shop
Having Promenada Mall close to aSpace Aviației is useful for one very simple reason: you can get a lot done in one place.
Beyond its cafés and restaurants, you’ll find shops and services for all those little errands you would otherwise have to squeeze in after work. There’s also Mega Image, as well as pharmacies and other everyday services nearby.
And Promenada itself is changing.
A major expansion is currently under construction, representing an investment of approximately €300 million. The new retail component is scheduled to open in April 2027 and will add around 55,400 sqm, including new shops and restaurants, a cinema, theatre, premium fitness facilities and a four-star hotel. The wider development also includes office space.
In other words, an already well-connected business district is continuing to grow — bringing even more options for lunch, meetings, shopping and after-work plans.
The Practical Stuff Matters Too
Healthcare probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when choosing an office location. Neither are pharmacies or supermarkets. But once you spend five days a week in an area, having these things nearby becomes surprisingly important.
Alongside supermarkets and pharmacies, there are also private healthcare services in the area, including Medicover Pipera Clinic and Medicover Pipera Hospital.
Whether you need to fit a medical appointment or some tests around your working day, having these services nearby can make everyday logistics that little bit easier.
They may not be the most exciting part of an office location, but they’re exactly the kind of convenience you appreciate when you actually work there.
From Your Laptop Straight to the Gym — or the Pool
If you like to fit a workout around your working day, you won’t have to travel far for that either.
Close to AFI Lakeview, you’ll find World Class Caro, which has a fitness area and group classes as well as a semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool. So, if swimming a few lengths sounds better than another treadmill session, you have that option too.
Around Promenada, there’s also Level Up Promenada, formerly Sweat, giving you another nearby option for fitting exercise into your routine.
Whether you prefer training before work or heading to the gym as soon as you close your laptop, having these options close by makes it much easier to fit exercise into the day.
Or Maybe You’d Rather Take a Walk After Work
Parcul Herastrau
One of the advantages of working in northern Bucharest is that being in a business district doesn’t mean being surrounded by office buildings and concrete all day.
King Michael I Park (Herăstrău) is nearby and is an easy choice for an after-work walk, a run or simply some time away from your screen.
In the other direction, there’s also Floreasca Park, a smaller alternative when you want to get outside and slow things down for a while.
On a sunny day, being able to close your laptop at aSpace and swap your desk for a walk in the park without crossing the city is one of those advantages you tend to appreciate more and more once you start working in the area.
What About Getting to the Office?
Of course, all the cafés and restaurants in the world don’t matter much if getting to work is a struggle.
For those using public transport, Aurel Vlaicu metro station provides convenient access to the area and connects it to other parts of Bucharest.
AFI Lakeview’s position on Barbu Văcărescu also places you right in the middle of one of northern Bucharest’s main business hubs.
That matters not only for the people working here every day, but also for teams, clients and collaborators travelling to the office from different parts of the city.
