24/7 access sounds great ✨

Total freedom. Come whenever you want. Leave whenever you want. Work at your own pace.

But the real question is:

How safe is a coworking space when there’s no one “officially” at the office?

Because it’s not just about access.
It’s about control, security, and peace of mind 🧠

Let’s break down how it actually works.

Who has 24/7 access (and who doesn’t)

Not everyone has the same level of access—and that’s a good thing 👍

At aSpace:

  • if you have a private office or a dedicated desk, you get 24/7 access
  • if you’re on a hot desk plan, access is between 9 AM and 5 PM (when reception is staffed)

(Check out our article on dedicates vs hot desk here)

👉 This means the space stays organized and controlled, not completely open.

Access isn’t unrestricted

Entry is based on a personal access badge 🎫

With it, you can:

  • enter the building
  • access the aSpace workspace

Everything is controlled—and that benefits everyone.

You won’t run into unknown people wandering around or awkward situations. Everyone has their own access, which helps create a safe environment—for you and your belongings 🔐

👉 In short, it’s a system designed to protect the community, not restrict it.

What about visitors?

AFI Lakeview

AFI Lakeview Reception

This is one of the most common questions.

The short answer: no one gets in without being registered 🚫

Here’s how it works:

  • visitors check in at the building reception
  • they provide ID details
  • they say who they’re there to see

Then:

  • they’re escorted upstairs
  • access is confirmed with the community manager

👉 At all times, there’s a clear record of who’s in the space—so you can focus on your work without distractions.

You’re never really “alone in the building”

Even if you arrive very early or late at night, there’s always staff on-site 24/7:

  • security and maintenance, with video surveillance 📹
  • on-site fire safety personnel, as required by law 🚒

👉 That gives you something important: peace of mind.

There is monitoring (but not over the top)

There are security cameras in common areas like:

  • reception
  • kitchen

Not to “watch” people, but to:

👉 keep things safe
👉 prevent unpleasant situations

Private spaces remain private.

What if things don’t go perfectly?

Let’s be real:

  • you forgot your badge
  • you show up very early
  • you need help

During the day (9 AM–5 PM), it’s simple—the community manager can assist you.

Outside those hours:

  • building staff can help
  • early in the morning, there’s usually staff on-site (like cleaning teams)

👉 And no matter the aSpace location, there’s always security personnel in the building 24/7.

That means even outside normal hours, you’re never in a completely empty space—you always have someone to turn to if needed.

And just as important: situations like these don’t happen often.

Why all of this matters

Because 24/7 access isn’t just about flexibility.

It means:

  • being able to work anytime without stress
  • knowing the space is secure
  • not worrying about who comes in or what might happen
  • and in practice, not stressing if you occasionally leave personal items behind

Because even if it’s not encouraged, it happens—a mug in the kitchen ☕, a charger, a notebook.

👉 What matters is knowing the space is designed to handle everyday situations like these safely.

Access when you want. Peace of mind when you need it.

24/7 access is a real advantage.

But only when it comes with:

  • control
  • security
  • organization

At aSpace, the goal isn’t just to give you access anytime.

It’s to make sure that no matter when you arrive, everything is under control.
